CIIN to launch maiden Insurance Week from 27 June to July 4

The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) has concluded plans to launch its maiden Insurance Week, scheduled to hold from the 27th of June to the 4th of July 2025.

The event, which will hold across Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, and Kano seeks to deepen public awareness on the role of insurance in everyday life, strengthen industry collaboration, and showcase the profession’s contributions to national development.

The initiative has as theme, “Insurance for All: Securing Nigeria’s Future”.

The week-long event will feature series of activities designed to reposition the insurance industry as a critical driver of stability and resilience.

While speaking at the official briefing recently, the President and Chairman of Council, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, highlighted the strategic importance of the initiative, expressing confidence in its capacity to foster trust and engagement among the insuring public.

Also, the Chairman of the Organising Committee and Past President of the Institute, Mr. Eddie Efekoha, affirmed that the programme has been meticulously planned to leave a lasting impression on stakeholders and ignite renewed enthusiasm for the industry.

On his part, the Chairman of Editorial, Media and Publicity Committee, Mr. Ademola Ayotunde Abidogun, who also is the Managing Director/CEO of Guinea Insurance PLC and a serving member of the CIIN Governing Council, used the opportunity to call on stakeholders in the nation’s insurance industry to support the programme to ensure success.

“I am pleased to lend my full support to this bold and timely endeavour. I encourage all stakeholders, insurers, practitioners, and the general public to participate wholeheartedly in the scheduled activities. A united show of presence and purpose will not only ensure the success of this inaugural outing, but also reinforce the value of insurance in shaping a more secure and inclusive future for all Nigerians”, Abidogun said.
